September 08 Thank YouHeya.
Thanks so much for all your support thus far.
The revelation that a total stranger may have just helped me inch closer to a new facet of my life sure is astounding.
Anyway, regardless the outcome, thanks a whole lot from the bottom of my heart.
Every vote counts, right?
But to me, it doesn't count directly to winning this competition.
It counts because every single vote, you entrusted me with something special, you had me in mind.
And I'm gratified. Special shoutout to my kawans whom have helped me so damned much for this little gig of a project.
Darling Trina, Bhavani, Alvin Chew, Loganathan, and my beloved sister and family and extended family.
And to those kawans of mine whom have been voting bit by bit, although you didn't shoutout and let me know...I know.
To you, thanks. I'll delete this blog in a bit, rather then to just let it slowly rot right here.
Till then...have a fantastic life!
August 22 A Glimpse of the PastHeya all.
How have you all been doing?
Hopefully your answer will be along the lines of "GREAT" and "AMAZING!!"
Anyway, right now with this post, I'm going to start a segment for you to have a glimpse of my interests or the milestones in my not too distant past, the adventure I'm currently immersed in as well as the plans for the near future.
Let's do it in order; we'll kick it off with the past.
Hopefully if my time-management goes well, we'll get to the end of the segment.
My personal past involves a lot of my schooling life.
I've always been the one to test my own limits, to try new things, to excel in everything I do. So, I'm not boasting when I say since Primary 1, I've never been a normal student for more than 3 months.
(SK Teluk Pulai)
Primary 1: Class monitor
Primary 2: Class monitor
Primary 3: Prefect
Primary 4: Prefect
Primary 5: Prefect Primary 6: Head Prefect/Model Student
(SMK Methodist (ACS) Klang)
Secondary 1: Class Vice President
Secondary 2: Head Prefect
Secondary 3: Prefect (Assistant Councillor)
Secondary 4: Assitant Head Prefect, Asistant Director (Interact Club), AJK (Nature Society)
Secondary 5: Head Prefect, Vice President (Interact & Nature Society)
(Taylor's University College, Cambridge A Levels)
A Levels: Class Representative, Writer for the Newsletter
No, I do not feel boastful listing those down.
I feel sad for myself, pitifully so. Imagine the things I've missed doing as a normal student. I envy my friends whom got to enjoy a carefree schooling era. No rules to abide by undyingly, nor responsibilities to bring home that would weigh you down for the rest of the weekend. However, I've never regretted. Just longed, that's all.
So yes, I've been the class monitor, a prefect.
Never the popular posts. When you take on those roles, people tend to dislike you. I've learnt to cope though, so I may have seem cold and a prick back in school.
As for the Interact Club...well, it was like a rite of passage for us guys back then to get involved.
However, it was really fun getting involved. We got to meet many people, make loads of changes to our community, school and selves. The Nature Society; it was the best thing I've ever gotten myself into.
I love nature...so it fits my calling. But the people I've met in this society, we bonded like family. Literally. Nobody better to die beside for a common cause. It is a real satisfying feeling when I left the society.
When we (my best mates and I) joined, it was just recently reestablished, revived. We were the first few members, ever. And we managed to convert that once dead club into one of, if not the, most active club in school. Those are some of the most important things I've done in my past years.
I've also been the AJK of the bowling club, having once represented the school in the district and state championships. Various academic (nerdy) competitions (ie. Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Sastera etc). I used to play classical guitar too.
But that seems like a lifetime ago. Owh, I also used to love to act.
Haha...but realised down the road people didn't see me in that light. I was pretty decent playing Scrabble competitively too.
My team (Reuben, Yat Sin, Woon Han and myself) was undoubtedly the best in Klang, and held our own in the national level (4th placing). I love to travel too.
One of the best places in the past that I've travelled to was definitely Japan. It was a Homestay Program. Omg.
Dah cakap begitu banyak.
Henti kat sini kay?
Have a nice day.
ps: pics can be properly viewed in the album under 'Past Exploits'. August 15 Pictures: Phases and FacesHey there kawan-kawan!
Apa khabar semua?
Well, this little entry here is a little something about my self.
Evidently, you're going to vote. But how are you possibly going to decide based on that one picture you're equipped with from the HallsOfFame website, right?
Personally, I don't think any one single picture is enough for you to grasp the infinite facets of an individual. So right here, I'm going to bare a few layers of myself. It's only fair that you know who you're voting, and what you're getting yourself into. Haha.
Let's see, what am I like in person?
I used to exude a certain coldness back in my secondary school...so only my close friends know what I really am like in person. I can defintiely be cold. But beneath the serious and seemingly matured exterior, I'm naturally a person who loves fun and laughs. I like being different. I don't mind doing dares, the adrenaline is to die for. I can do some pretty crazy stuff sometimes. So, I've a particular album entitled 'The Boy' in which I showcase a few of the less incriminating pictures that is deemed suitable for public display. Haha.
Have fun!
August 14 The BeginningAges ago, my mother showed me a newspaper clipping telling of how Halls was looking for talents to star in their next commercial. I was pretty skeptical about it, as I've never done anything like this before. I took a few pictures of myself posing with the tube of Halls. After having uploaded the pictures into my comp, I conveniently forgotten about it.
Then on the final day, my mother asked me what I've done with the competition. Only then did I remember. Minutes before the dateline, I uploaded 3 pictures for the competition. I thought it was all just for fun...as well, me and the fast life of media limelight: don't bode well together.
I have always been this kid branded with the 'nerd' tag, and somewhat socially challenged. So this whole side of world never seemed open to me.
But I got a call days later from one Ms Yong who's handling this whole gig. I made it into the top 10, and was needed at a photoshoot. Over the phone, I kept my cool and hoped I sounded as macholy sexy as possible. Then I hung up...
...and did jumps and twists and... yeah... you get the picture.
The photoshoot was awesome. My first, and hopefully not the last. Met loads of great friends. First contestant I spoke to was M1 Hunk Syaz. Hot to know Benn and Brandon a little better too. Awesome guys. I was expecting to see some stuck-up people only wanting to win the thing and didn't give two hoots about everybody else. Boy, was I wrong.
A week or so later, we were gathered at Cineleisure, the Curve for the press launch. We had our first taste of fame in the form of a 10-15 minutes worth of smiling for the camera. I personally felt a little fake though. It seriously gave my mouth muscles some major workout alright.
So, after that...here we all are!!
Awaiting your kind votes! Frankly, I wasn't as hyped over campaigning for votes as much as my new found friends. Because above all else, this is indeed a popularity contest, and well...I've never really fared well in popularity contests. Secondly, I didn't like the fact that I had to spread the word and ask my friends and family and the general man on the streets to vote for me, as this will make me feel like I'm asking them to do me a favour, imposing on them an obligation to go buy a tube of Halls and vote me for me just so I can have a taste of fame. I'm sure they (friends and family) wouldn't mind though.
But seeing how hyped my parents were, seeing the support of my sister dearest, the eagerness of my friends to help...
I really should start some form of campaigning. So right this moment, right here....
I'm beckoning you, my friend or the man/woman of the streets... To go click click away HERE!!!
And then vote for WHOMEVER you feel for most!!
Because at the end of the day, it is YOU who is going to watch the winner's face all the time on the screens and who knows what else. So choose wisely!
As to my new-found-friends...guys, nice meeting ya'll. Enjoy the fun!!
Have a nice day!
August 10 How Did You Feel When You Found Out That You Made the Cut?It was like snowflakes in the middle of the scorching Malaysian day.
You've always wanted to experience REAL snow, without the gross expenditures on air tickets.
And now, finally...you see it, you feel it. Right here, right now. You taste it even. But how are you suppose to believe that it isn't a mere dream?
How was I suppose to believe that this whole Halls experience for me isn't a figment of a hyperactive imagination?
Well, for starters, Jessica Alba wasn't there in a bikini to celebrate it with me.
So yeah, that was when I realised it was all true! What am I saying?!
It IS all true. Anyway, this post is just for starters.
A warming up gig, if I may. Was always a fanatic Blogdrive fan, so I need a tinsie bit more time to get accustomed to my new surroundings here at Windows Live Spaces. B-but...
PEOPLE!
Welcome!! Glad you dropped by.
Arigato gozaimasu and have an awesome weekend!!!
